Canadian actor and outstanding comic artist John Candy had a net worth of $15 million. He made the greatest amount of his fortune by dint of successful acting, screenwriting and being an integral part of Hollywood movies in the 1990s.

In his college years, the future actor studied journalism but began to act on the stage as part of various children’s theater performances. Subsequently, he began to work in the genre of satire. He happened to be a part of the famous Second City comedy enterprise in 1972 and thus began his serious career of comedian entrepreneur. During shooting off the Coming Up Rosie (1976–1977) he met Dan Aykroyd with whom he had prolonged and fruitful collaboration.

Later, John Candy landed his breakthrough role in the popular TV show The David Steinberg Show in 1976. In 1979, John Candy starred in Steven Spielberg’s comedy film 1941, and next year in John Landis’s musical comedy film The Blues Brothers. He soon has made his most popular works in Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987), Spaceballs (1987), Splash (1984), Uncle Buck (1989), Home Alone (1990) and his last one role in Canadian Bacon (1995). As a television writer, he succeeded in contributing to such acts as Big City Comedy (1980), The Last Polka (1985), Camp Candy (1989-1990 and more. John Candy received two Primetime Emmy awards for writing plot of SCTV Network 90 series in 1981. He also received twelve other nominations. He died in 1994.
