In fact, the story of this girl is not about wealth. It is about education, inner beauty and strong wish to make the world better. Nevertheless, if you are still interested in the level of her wealth, you should know that she owns $3 million net worth. But Malala has already donated $1 million of it for various charitable projects. The young Pakistani woman runs charity foundation “The Malala Fund”.
Malala Yousafzai started to make money by her own as a blogger. When she was about 11 years old, she was asked to write for BBC blog. The girl publicized the topic of people’s life in Swat, the district of Pakistan, which was occupied by the Taliban.
Soon Malala’s blog has become popular. She wrote her own thoughts about Taliban’s regime. The girl was especially disappointed by Taliban’s ban on education of girls. In 2012 the girl was almost killed by the Taliban shooter. Malala managed to survive then. That accident made her internationally popular.
In 2013 Malala Yousafzai co-authored a book “I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban”. The book, written in collaboration with a popular journalist Christina Lamb, have become a bestseller and made Yousafzai family millionaires.
But how did Malala Yousafzai begin her way on top?
In fact, Malala has never planned to become rich and popular. She valued education and freedom since her early years, because she was a daughter of a teacher. Malala’s father, Ziauddin Yousafzai, ran a chain of schools in Mingora, Pakistan.
Her father stayed in touch with Aamer Ahmed Khan, BBC representative, who asked Ziauddin to find the girl to write about Taliban regime in Swat for BBC site. He chose his own daughter. Thus Malala started to write about hard life of a woman in Swat. She wrote about importance of education, about the girls’ ban from schools and poverty. Malala wrote under the name Gul Makai. Her courageous thoughts caused the attack on her.
Currently Malala Yousafzai continues to promote women’s right for education. On her 18th birthday she opened the school for girls in Bekaa Valley, Lebanon.
She got Nobel Peace Prize, when she was just 17. Thus she has become the youngest person ever get this prize. Her life story was depicted in documentary film “He Named Me Malala”.
