Vincent D’Onofrio was born in Brooklyn, NY in the family of a theater director Gennaro D’Onofrio and his wife, Phyllis, a restaurant manager.
Having graduated from school, Vincent started to act in a theater from time to time. He took acting lessons at Actors Studio.
At the beginning of his career D’Onofrio’s salary was miserable. He worked as a bouncer in New York clubs. Vincent visited auditions and played small roles in several TV shows, till he met his big break – the role in the movie “Full Metal Jacket”.
Vincent D’Onofrio is a busy actor till now. Among his latest screen works there are the film “Rings” and the series “Ghost Wars”.
